Villanelle For You

Villanelle For You
Awaiting ending such strangeness, she flies.
Her dance upon the heart evades me so.
Though yet, I see her come before my eyes.

Residing low but high in mind, she sighs.
Presenting me the jewel of love—the glow.
Awaiting ending such strangeness, she flies.

Her feelings strike me senseless: gentle cries
Against her cruel caress, her sweetest show.
Though yet, I see her come before my eyes.

Appearing frail and helpless, my own demise:
Her scent of musk and warmth brings tears to flow.
Awaiting ending such strangeness, she flies.

Without her charm or wit abound, my ties
On wilting Earth lose worth—and worse, do throw.
Though yet, I see her come before my eyes.

Devoting to you my faithful reprise,
Unworthy to any other foe,
Awaiting ending such strangeness, she flies.
Though yet, I see her come before my eyes.
